Simpson began writing poetry around 2005, with collections
published by
SBPRA and Hemkunt (Sanbun) from 2010 to 2013, then Augur Press
(Patterns of
Perception) in 2015. Another from Poetry Space is to be published in
2015. He
was
born at South Camberwell in the state of Victoria, Australia
in 1932, was
educated at Scotch College, then Swinburne art
school. After
graduation he taught art for fifteen years in state technical
schools in
Victoria, interrupted 1958 by a
year away painting in London in
1958. Superannuated due to stress, he began writing
short
stories, but later switched to free verse. He
lives
in the Melbourne suburb of Lysterfield with his
daughter, her husband
and four grandchildren. |
