What Is Real?

It isn’t really
real is it?
until someone
else sees it?
it isn’t, is it?
so I am safe
a snail curled
tight in its shell
a camouflaged
katydid green
wings spreading
like spring leaves
a solitary possum
on a rain-drubbed
road, playing
dead
to stay
alive
guarded secrets
silently devouring
like a sea cucumber
not real until
you see
me please
see me
