Dog Wood
standing in the winter garden alone, a leafless dogwood tree like the hand of
an old crone
lichen veins branch out, splayed against an open sky
watching ~ waiting for the frosty air to bend into balmy days and come alive,
to wear her
seasonal dress, crowned in creamy white petals, her spring time best.
