Pond 20 - 2016

Submissions are open
I’d like to thank Linda Eve Diamond, one of the winners in our recent poetry contest, who subsequently took the time to contact Poets & Writers magazine regarding StC. It’s listed on P&W but wasn’t on their list of approved publishers for directory credits. Now it is! Thanks Linda.

On another note, drop me an email and tell me what you think of the idea of adding a small optional fee, say two dollars, that gets your submission reviewed and responded to in two weeks, instead of the usual two months. I’ve seen this with other publications, so I’d like to know your thoughts. (And I already provide feedback on reviews without charge, something many sites don’t do.)

Thanks and Enjoy!
- Ken

‘Eclipse’ by Clinton Van Inman is deceptively simple and subtle in both meaning and structure.

I try to stay away from controversial pieces, but ‘Blues For My Ex-Country/Homeland’ by Sabahudin Hadžialić is just too powerful and poetic to pass by.

Lest you think Arctic and Eucalyptus Trees don’t go together, they can and did in Northern California a few years ago. And lucky for us Gail Osborne was there! Arctic Winds

‘January’ by Ed Coletti is a wonderfully strange and transmuting piece. I left a deeper explanation to Ed in his author’s comment.

Nancy Shires’ ‘What Ads Don’t Say’ is great humor - funny with a grain of truth.
